If You Give A Moose A Muffin

Aiden & I just finished reading the book If You Give A Moose A Muffin for what feels like the hundreth time. In the book, the moose makes some cute little sock puppets, so we decided that we wanted to make our own. Here are a few pictures (above). It kept him busy for at least 15 minutes, so it was worth spending a few minutes making them. Plus, it's so much fun to watch him make up dialogue for them.

An Update!

This is how we keep busy during the winter

we're serious about our fingerpainting!

Aiden's first time bowling. He got a higher score than I did! I think I needed the bumpers more than he did :)

Aiden's first snowman. It ended up having 4 arms and a lot of eyes. No more Monsters Inc. for Aiden.

Aiden loves to "drive" the tractor

We also try baking in the winter to keep busy. Always have the vacuum on hand!

The snowman's head just had an extra-long nose, so we made an elephant.

For those who are not on facebook, I'm so sorry I haven't posted any pictures or updates. Any time I spend on the internet now is usually on facebook. I just thought I'd post a few recent pictures. Looking through these pictures I'm so excited that the snow is finally gone and that we'll be able to spend more time outside - planting a garden of vegetables, digging for worms & hunting for frogs with Aiden, and just breathing the fresh air! Thanks for checking the blog! Have a wonderful day :)

Aiden

Aiden will be 2 on Sunday! He's so much fun at this age...saying funny things, repeating everything we say, & keeping us on our toes! Every day is new, exciting, & challenging. Mainly, these pictures are for my mom since she isn't on facebook or myspace to see them when I upload all of my new photos. Enjoy!

Poor Kitty

Aiden with a death grip on the cat
One of our other cat's babies

"Cheese!"...The cat's trying to escape while Aiden's distracted
Aiden will watch the cat and say, "Good?" "Mmm."

Someone recently dropped off a kitty at our house, so Aiden has made a new best friend. I'm still trying to teach him how to be gentle and sweet to him and not pick him up by his neck or spin him in circles, ride him like a horse, etc. I'll wait until I can't take seeing the kitten being tortured any longer or get tired of saying, "No, Aiden. Don't do that." and pry him out of Aiden's hands to release him. Then, as I sigh with relief, the silly cat comes back for more. At least I tried.

Meme

Joy tagged me for a meme, so here are 6 random things about me:

1. I love fall.

2. I teach piano (I only have one student right now, but that counts :).

3. I drink hot chocolate almost every morning in the fall/winter.

4. I went to a small Christian school. There were eight in my graduating class with only one guy. That was the largest class we'd had in years, and I think we still hold the record for largest class. That was 2001.

5. I love to read & learn about natural healing, herbs, etc.

6. I hope to learn to sew & quilt one day.

- I didn't want to post again without a picture

Lately, I've been trying to teach Aiden that God made the world & everything in it. Of course, he's not quite two, so I don't expect him to completely understand. Our conversations go like this...ME: "Aiden, who made the sky?" AIDEN: "God." ME: "Aiden, who made the grass?" AIDEN: "God."(as he shakes his head with certainty) You get the picture. So, after dinner the other night Aiden had just gotten in trouble for purposely throwing food on the floor, so my mother-in-law asked him, "Aiden, who made this mess?", and he proudly replied with a smile, "God."

I have to confess that I've been spending a lot more time on facebook than blogging lately. Not much has happened here in Ohio, so I'm not finding too much to blog about. I've just been keeping busy trying to keep Aiden busy. I would actually love any ideas that anyone can give me for projects that I can do with him. He helps with cooking, cleaning, fingerpaints, draws, etc, but I've just wanted to do/teach something new lately and can't figure out what. I despise putting him in front of a tv or just letting him figure out what to do which usually turns into him getting in trouble, so...Any ideas would be so helpful!! Thank you!
